Just wanted to take some time to personally thank 2 unsung heroes in Vermont named Dr. Bill Sargent and Reed Garfield. As many of you know these two gentlemen run the IBS score matches at the Caledonia Forest & Stream Club in St. Johnsbury, VT. As usual these two with the help of Reed's brother Dwayne and Jim Goody's son Patrick put on a great match over the weekend. Both of these guy's sacrificed shooting to run this two day match. Doc did the scoring, Reed and Patrick were the target crew, and Dwayne called the line. As usual it was a great time with lots of great friends and food. Also earlier this year we were informed that this past weekends match and the 2 day State match in Sept.,were probably going to be the last two matches in VT. Doc surprised everybody and announced that next year they were going to have a 100 yard club match in May, and the 2 day Meter Match in July and the 2 day State yardage match in September and eventually also schedule 1 club match every month which was fantastic news. I know that I'm speaking for every shooter who shows up there to shoot, THANK YOU DOC & REED, WE SALUTE BOTH OF YOU, JOB WELL DONE!

Even though I no longer participate, I was a regular from the very beginning at Caledonia and it would be likened to Damariscotta no longer holding matches or Augusta, even. You folks may not know that IBS is a Maine Corporation and that Augusta fit into that in the early going. Every range that goes down diminishes us and our history. Just look at Mainville, for instance, as far as Score Shooting is concerned. It not continuing was almost too much to imagine. Let's try to keep all of them up and going.
