Hi, I'm new to the forum and need some help.
I just traded for a Remington XP-100 in 221 fireball and want to convert it to the 17 Ackley Bee 40deg shoulder. I know the 221 fireball is a nice round but the barrel on this one has a bad spot in it.
I have some questions.
1. Will it heart the bolt if I open it up for the Bee case head? It just needs a very little bit.
2. Do you think the extractor will fit over the Bee case head? The head fits under the extractor on my other Remington bolt faces but I'm not sure on the XP bolt.
3. Does anyone know where I can get a #7 extended shell holder for the Bee brass?
4. Any information on what to expect in forming the 17 Ackley Bee from the 218 Bee brass? Any ideas on how to do this without loosing a lot of cases?
5. Any information on loads for the 17 Ackley Bee that anyone would like to share would be appreciated.
That's it for now, but I'm just getting into this thing. I have always liked that little 17 Ackley Bee and thought the XP would make a nice gun for it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
