Clarification on proposed IBS rule change

Tod, NBRSA members are currently allowed to shoot in short range IBS tournaments without becoming IBS members, they are not allowed to shoot (advance) in IBS long range matches. The new rule would not allow them to compete in short range matches without becoming members, that is what the rule...

Clarification on proposed IBS rule change

Tod, The way it is worded it would have no effect on IBS Long Range. You already have to be an IBS member to shoot at a 600 or 1000yd IBS match, meaning as you pointed out you cannot advance. The rule appears to be written to only effect short range.

    AR class in benchrest

Dick, IBS rule VII A) 9) states that auto-loading weapons are not allowed. Yes the range can allow them to shoot but the cannot win a match as the rule stands now. That was the reason for the experimental AR class. Unfortunately as you said it never took off. I think I was the only match...

Knowing where to hold at longer distances

Mike, Many (if not most) ranges only shoot at the target during the record string. All sighters are at clay pigeons on a dirt bank or at a metal gong. If you don't see the bullet hit the dirt bank you won't have any idea where it went. If you can see the vapor trail as Joe suggested it will be...

    Remington700 accidential discharges

That is common when using the bale feeder for horses. It's done because if they reach though the feeding holes they wear a spot of their mane out where it rubs on the top bar. I am in no way supporting those who claim that 700s go off accidentally, just thought you would like to know why the...

Justin, For depth I used the dimension from the reamer print for my cartridge, you could use SAAMIs chamber drawings available on line.
