    Remington 700 Trigger Dismount

Is there a preferred direction to knock the pins out? Do you knock them from left to right? Or do you knock them from right to left?

Can anybody recommend a good "accurizing 101" source?

I suggest you read Tony Boyer's and Mike Ratigan's books, as well as reading the Accurate shooter and Benchrest Central forums daily. Go to and observe and ask questions at some benchrest matches. You can learn on the Rem 700, but if you want to be competitive, you will need a bench rest...

    Arthritis

I had my left thumb fixed about 25 or 30 years ago. The doctor sawed the end of my thumb off and replaced it with a rolled up tendon from that arm. I believe they have less primitive methods now. Any way it worked out great and healed quickly. Good luck with your thumb.

    Arthritis

Voltaren works, it is an NSAID. I have used it. I have arthritis in my hands and back, everywhere actually. I have had my thumb joint repaired, a new ankle and a new hip and a foot "frozen" with screws. Go to the doctor and have him prescribe Celebrex. (or the generic celecoxib) to reduce the...

Where and who to ask about technical bullet seating depth

suggested loads No, do not load to min and pray, look here for suggested loads for the caliber that you are using. Start a little under and work up. The questions you are asking about bullet depth seating are dependent on your rifle, your bullet (may have to change depth with different lot of...

    Ballistic Calculators

I agree with your only one point statement. It is the important point anyway. Of course, judging the wind and making the proper windage inputs is the toughest part of long range shooting. If I was better at it, I would hit more dogs. I am waiting fir the day a radar will dope the wind for me...

    12L14 Holee Kowww

12L14 has a yield strength of 60,000 psi. It is just "mild steel", but we tapped all sorts of holes in it, and never had a problem with customers stripping threads. It was our go to material (primarily for it's free machining properties and its magnetic properties), and we used it for shafts...

    Ballistic Calculators

I use a ballistics calculator on every shot when hunting prairie dogs. I use applied ballistics, with a Kestrel 5700 on a post with the vane, feeding my iphone. I have my phone mounted on my rotary table, in line with the gun barrel. I range the dog with my Lieca binoculars, and put the range in...

    12L14 Holee Kowww

We used a lot of 12l14 in the manufacture of industrial magnetic brakes and clutches, and we welded a lot of shafts to rotors. Never had a weld fail. These units gave a "soft start", and never were subjected to the kind of shock loads or heavy loads of a maritime environment. I take Jackie at...

    Inside neck lubing with MOLY

I suggest this instead of Moly. Powdered graphite, in a container with a lot of plastic balls, just dip the neck in it. https://www.redding-reloading.com/online-catalog/162-imperial-dry-neck-lube-convenience-pak

    Giraud trimmer

I use the standard Giraud spring loaded inserts. I am not trying to fit some chamber, just reducing the length to a consistent number. I did not get one for 6PPC, I use my Wilson Trimmer for that. Only a couple hundred cases, so it's no big deal to do them by hand.

I don't know, but I suspect that they do.

    Shipping costs:

Many companies make a profit center out of their shipping department, adding fees. UPS fees are dependent on weight and volume of the package. They offer discounts to companies that use their service, so what ever the company charges over their cost is profit. My son had a company making steel...

    Lens choices for cataract surgery

I had cataract surgery about 5 years ago. I chose to have both eyes corrected for distance vision. I wear trifocal glasses with the upper portion having no correction (plain glass), the lowest portion for reading, and the middle is 1/2 the reading prescription which works well for my computer. I...

Does brass become brittle with age just sitting in a box?

I have no experience with brittle old brass, but can relate a case of brass cracking. Our company was making brass air compressor relief valves ( allowed head pressure to bleed off when compressor stopped), and in some cases the brass shuttle was breaking. It turned out to be because of...
