    Tuner thread

Is it a cut rifled barrel or a button rifled barrel.? The rumor has been that buttoned barrels will actually expend a very small amount when metal is removed, and cut rifled do not. I really can’t say one way or another. There has already been a substantial amount of material removed, if you...

    Ed Bernabeo wins Tomball Finale

We had a great, if not hot day to shoot our final Match of the year at Tomball. Ed Bernabeo came out on top with a 250 22x. There was a three way tie for 2d, with Alan Krenek winning the tie breaker over Jackie Schmidt and Dwayne Pullum. We had a good turnout in the Factory and Modified...

One of Our Repair Jobs You Might Like

What you are describing happens on a daily basis in shipyards throughout the world. Prop damage is an ongoing problem in any boat. Inland Push Boats are particularly hard on them. When a vessel is dry docked for prop damage, the shipyard will take a indicator run out on the shaft taper. If the...

    Steel bullet dies?

I never really fooled around with Graph/Mo. I can see the hardening capability with that 1.45% carbon. I wonder if, like leaded steels, they actually add the graphite as the steel is poured from the furnace into ingots. George, I am in need of a 6mm flatbase core seating die that will handle...

    Steel bullet dies?

Randy, back before I started making my own 30’s, when I did quite well with yours, I always seemed to shoot the best Aggs with your 112 on the .925. But then I think about the lesson you gave us in Greeley Colorado a few years back, and………

    Steel bullet dies?

George, I did not realize they were that hard. That is right up there with most High Speed Steels.

    Steel bullet dies?

^^^^^^^ The distance you shoot a 30 BR at means using the most accurate bullet/Barrel/powder combo as possible. Day in and day out that’s a relative straight shank bullet at 7 to 8 ogive out of a 1-17 or 1-18 twist barrel. Like Lee said, easy tunable, and very winnable.

    Steel bullet dies?

Dave, that’s about what I have heard. Some say hat the Eubers made up to 3 million on that famous 6 mm die of theirs. I remember talking to Allie at Phoenix a few years before he past away, and he said he still shot hem but could not sell them because the shank had finally got too much over...

    New bullet testing today

Randy, we all know that for the past years Al has been chasing a NHRA Stock Car Index, where they measure gains in .001 of a second increments down the track. So he thought he would get back into something a little less anal, a little less nerve wrecking, and a little less inducing one to pull...

    New bullet testing today

Al, are the Blackmon dies Carbide or Tool Steel. Just curious. Those bullets look great. I am locked into a .925 jacket bullet because I have tons of jackets and my bullet has a nice long shank. I have thought about making up cores to make a 115 on the same jacket, but I’m not sure it would be...

By the way, folks, this was Scott’s first Two Gun Championship. I feel confident in saying it will not be his last. I had a thoroughly good time this week end. Granted, there was a few times when I thought about competing in “the 100 yard Rifle throw”, but that passes in a few seconds. In...

Leaded steels are simply steels that have lead added at at the pour. The lead literally gets between the individual molecules of the parent metal. This is what gives these steels their free machining quality as the lead acts as an internal lubricant. The major drawback is ductility suffers. One...
