Much appreciated, Elmer! Was very concerned about this site.

Exactly. And that is what I am hoping for and can't say it any better. When you do a search on here and threads come up from years past, it's amazing the amount of information shared and testing that was performed to provide input to the subject matter. Fingers crossed that something positive...

Agreed. It has become very troublesome. Hopefully, that will change at some point.

I am. I'm not going anywhere. I just hope he can get it going again and the knowledgeable folks return.

Understood, and when it comes to anything computer related, I haven't a clue. I would just hate to see the information that is currently here just disappear one day when we log in to see that the site no longer exists. I literally am seeing one or two members online in here at a time. It may be...

    Benchrest Central

Since the writing is on the wall that BC is fading into obscurity, is there any way to save or house the archives and information found in the search functions? It's a shame that this has happened to what once was the go-to site for precision rifle information. There is a ton of valuable...

    Firing Sequence Explained

Thank you so much for the reply. I've been around this stuff for some time, and remember Lowell, also. My question is out of curiosity, purely, and not necessarily something to use as a tune criteria change. Does the bullet, upon firing pin impact on the primer, get pushed further into the case...

    Firing Sequence Explained

Assuming a bullet is seated into the lands firmly, and a case is properly sized with a .002" shoulder bump, as the bolt closes, the extractor is pushed over and forward of the case rim at battery, I assume. Firing pin strikes primer...what happens next? With the bullet squarely in the lands...

Question about mounting base mount on a problem receiver.

The enlarged ejection port design looks very similar to the modified 700 receivers used on the USMC M40A1, 3 and 5 series sniper rifles.

    dazed and confused

Agree with Greyfox. You can try firing the brass that fits and take a measurement at the .200" line in its fired position. Maybe take a headspace measurement now, also. Then size the brass and take the same measurements again. If the base of the case did not size down, you know the die isn't...

    1/4 drive torque wrench?

Snap On QTS135. Its range is 5-35 inlbs and is a screwdriver style with 1/4" ratchet type driver. Used frequently by aeronautical technicians. If it can fly planes....

    HG Tall Scope base

Hi. I have a Nesika L mounted on a Shehane Maxi Tracker with a Nightforce 12-42 BR scope. To get the objecive to clear the barrel block, I had to double up the scope bases. I don't lik this setup. I have seen the taller scope bases used on HG's but I cannot find who makes them or whether they...
