    Bullet swaging questions.

It was recently suggested to me to up my game, I should consider getting set up and learning to swage my own bullets. I know little or nothing about swaging bullets, process, equipment, supplies, cost effectiveness, etc. Was wondering if anyone could get me pointed in the right direction, any...

    N133 availability

I ordered from Bruno's website before I ever started this thread, and they called me to say they don't know why the website allowed me to place the order, because they haven't had eight pounders for months, and don't expect one pounders to be back in stock until the end of October, and did I...

    Controlling Runnout?

I'll shoot .2 groups with my 6ppc, but my .223 and .338LM are doing .75 to 1.25 consistently. I do the exact same thing with my .223 and .338LM that I do with my 6ppc , I start with new Lapua brass, turn necks, Debur flash holes, uniform primer pockets, resize using an RCBS Pardner press...

Trouble finding accurate load for Remington 223 5R

I've had two Remington-700's in .223, one was a police model with a short 1in9 twist, couldn't get it to shoot under 1.0-1.5 MOA, so I sold it. Later I bought an SPS varmint with 1in12 twist. Had the same problem, couldn't get it to shoot under 1.5 MOA consistently, until I figured out the...

    What is this???

I measured each, and chose five of the longest cases, each chambered in the rifle without resistance, so I set the sizing die so that it touches but does not bump the shoulder at all, in fact a couple of these cases actually grew a thousanth longer when sized, I assume because of the neck...

    What is this???

I also posted this on AccurateShooter.com, got similar advice. Will use the cases with a visible ring to reset my sizing die to bump the shoulder a 0.001" or less, then discard them, and will also take the rifle to a gunsmith tomarrow, to have the headspace on the rifle checked. Then reload the...

    What is this???

I'm using an RCBS full length die, I used an RCBS micrometer to measure, and adjusted the die to where it bumps the shoulder back about three thousanths of an inch on a fired case. The case necks have been turned to a thickness of 12 thousanths of an inch.

    Getting started.

Hello Everyone! I'm new to benchrest. I'm trying to get started, but work weekends, every weekend, so it makes it difficult to attend any matches. Unfortunately this sort of isolates me to some extent from what would probably be my best access to more experienced local shooters who could mentor...

Remington 6 1/2 small rifle primers

Back several years ago, when primers where scarce, I bought a flat of them (5000), not realizing that I couldn't use them in my .223 and if anybody wants them, I would like to sell or trade them for small rifle primers that I can use.

    Choices, choices.

I wouldn't choose any of those for target work. Get a nice used match rifle like an Anschutz, Kimber 82G, H&R 12, Win 52, Rem37, Martini International, Etc....Etc.... There are lots of good deals out there. I bought this old Martini for $200 out the door! 50yd Target 100yd Target

    .223 questions

I normally shoot rimfire or service rifle, but am considering getting a bolt gun in .223 remington. I already load .223 for my service rifles, but this rifle will be used primarily for paper punching from the bench at 100-300yds. Am not sure what twist to look for in the barrel, my service...

    What to try next?

Hi, I'm new here, and have a few questions. I've been shooting for years, but don't have that much experience with higher-end rifles, have always just owned used production guns. I recently had a .223 Savage model 12 VLP 1in7 twist, it would shoot sub-MOA on a good day, when I did my part...

    Newbie needing coaching/advice.

Shot my first ARA match wensday evening 9/14/11 in Boerne Texas, using my old Martini Intl. Mk-II, managed a 1713.75 aggregate with my high card being 1850. Thought it was fairly good for me, but finished dead last of course! Obviously have plenty of room for improvment.... In addition...
