    hummer barrels

Actually, there are people who can identify great barrels by "slugging" them to evaluate the condition inside them. Not a lot is said about the process but I attended an Accuracy school last winter where it was discussed and the equipment to do it shown. There are people who do it. There was a...

    7BR

An old friend used to shoot a 7 mm HBR rifle. Said it shot great but he had trouble getting good 7mm jackets so he never got back to it. Potentially it might be a better 300 yd rifle but like anything else, one must have good bullets. Generally speaking, 7 mm rifles are known for their accuracy...

    hummer barrels

back in the day of Precision Shooting Magazine there was an article with pictures of Tony at Dwight Scott's shop watching Dwight chamber his 20 barrels he had taken there. As I recall, Tony hoped for 2 great barrels out of the 20 and a couple pretty good ones to practice with. He said the first...

    hummer barrels

Once you've experienced a Hummer barrel you would understand. They do exist, I've had 3 or 4. The rest are in varying degrees of "Teasers". Having said that, there are people who can make hummers from some teasers. There is a thread on here somewhere where folks got into it a bit and showed...

    IR50/50 Indoor Unlimited Nationals 2024 @ Piney HIll $$$

Like so many other things in my life, I sure miss competing in IR 50/50. I miss all those who are no longer with us and the venues I use to shoot at that no longer hold matches. There came a point in my life where I felt I had to choose what was easiest for me to do, basically because of my age...

    30br powders

Back in the dark ages, N-130 was the go to powder for the 30 BR. Then came a year when Viht did not ship any N-130 to the US. Folks switched to H 4198 and didn't look back. So now H 4198 is unobtanium or at least it isn't being shipped to the US. It's that simple. LT 30 came along to compete...

    Shilen DGA Bolt Disassembly

Reminds me of a BAT I used to have. I think a BAT bolt tool would work to get the pin assembly out of the bolt to avoid the busted knuckles. The pin is likely threaded into the cocking piece, the rectangular piece. There are likely tools I am un aware of the dismantle it. You'll likely find a...

    30br powders

I used RL 7 for years until the price of it got stupid. I've used it in 30-44 and 30 BR. Shot great in both. I used the same load of RE 7 that I used of H 4198.
