    SD and Barrel Harmonics

elp, I was going to stay out of this because I figured that someone would address a incorrect assumption you have in your tuning. The group that hits closests to you point of aim or as you also put it, in the middle of the ladder test should be the best, is the furthest from the truth. What you...

For NEO rest owners & in the list - any possible improvements that I could do?

Thanks for following up SEB. I have tried the leg of the base to the front but with my long forend scoville's/Scarbough stocks, the barrel does not stick out past the leg so I cannot get the muzzle past the end/edge of the bench in this configuration. I'll play with the cartriage holder more...

Overall...this is a wonderfull rest, I have Harts, Sinclair, Farleys and a Completely Stainless SEB (Pauls rest) and...

    Rimfire chamber

According to Bill Calfee, he doesn't cut his match chambers on center. Has to do with the accumilation of residue after each shot. I think he even talked about it in one of his articles in precision shooting magazine. This should stir the pot on here...lol Hovis

    6PPC Reamer Question

Older lots of 220 brass (lapua) used to fireform around 1.490-1.495 but the last few years, i've gotten brass that was 1.520 before forming. I hate to trim brass before fireforming so my fireforming barrel is 1.525, then i trim. Virgin brass has really varied in lenght, wall thickness and primer...

    Sizing brass

wideglide, listen to what abintx above just said. There is no need in spending another 300.00 or so dollars on dies that wont fit your next factory gun in the same caliber, or anyone else's. You'll just be stuck with some useless expensive dies. Go with what you have and learn how to set them...

we need a humor forum.....until then

A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest, 'I almost had an affair with another woman.' The priest said, 'What do you mean, almost?' The Irishman said, 'Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped. The priest said, 'Rubbing together is the...

Hello, Carp, thanks for keeping it on your mind. I never would have thought that this adventure would take so many turns. Anyway, the range is still on going. With the new interestate being built (I69) just a few miles away, every contractor with a tonka truck and above has been working on...

    Tony Boyer benchrest school

The last I talked to Tony about his school, he had almost given up on giving the classes. He said he was tired of people getting mad at him when he would tell them what they were doing wrong or that their equipment was crap. Anyway, he was only giving the classes at his personal range and on a...

    HELP!...Who Makes This Rail?

Most of Hasecusters rails are numbered. That doesn't look like the one I had and it was his last personal one (it was not numbered). Some of Fred's had dial indicators on them also but I only believe around four were made that way. Hovis

    Farley rest maintenance

If you disassemble the farley and get to the co-ax bearing. The problem lies in the tolarances between the shell of the bearing and the shaft (this is not a spinning bearing as most are familiar with). It is possible to take an tighten it by using a pointed punch and pinging it around the...

Is It Time To Switch to a 22

Berger is working on a 22 version of their column...will probably be a year or so before it is out. Bart has his die and Watson's 22 die - both are great. Cheeks die is a good one also. Hottenstien has an excellant die. Others have very good 22 dies The current crop of common 22 dies are all...

Is It Time To Switch to a 22

Jackie, I shoot the -.100 short some and my wife shoots it all the time. I also have a new barrel in -.080 short that needs to be tried. With the new powders, I think the 22 can come back alive. As far as bullets, I got some of the 52gr Bergers last spring and they shot many screamers in...

Billy, Bart and Golf.... Reading about sending them golfing reminds me of an occurance that happened back around 2007 at the supershoot. My daughter who was around seven at the time and I were walking around the gravel road at the supershoot and we happened upon Billy, Bart and Bill hitting...
