Cute - - - but not really an answer to my question.

Spec Out a Barrel For Me

Hey Samburi, Merry Christmas!!! How many stinkers, hand-picked by your buddies at Hart, were chambered up before you found one that could shoot?? I remember kicking some of your ass in plenty of big matches too. It hasn't been all that long ago.

Spec Out a Barrel For Me

In the 15 years of so that I was involved in rimfire benchrest, Hart was never very popular. Some have tried them, gunsmiths have evaluated them, they just weren't as consistently good as other barrels. All barrels we purchase are a bit of a gamble as to whether they will be a top performer or...

Spec Out a Barrel For Me

Sorry to tell you Jim, but, in rimfire benchrest, Hart barrels are about as popular as a flatulent man in an elevator.

    Best Action

Bob, I can see you never had the joy of lot testing ammo only to have your preferred lot be all gone by the time you go to order it. The rimfire ammo selection process/experience will make you appreciate loading your own centerfire ammo more and more.

    Sporter Stock?

Come on Pete, let's not get ridiculous. Glue is integral to laminated wood, which has already been determined to be allowed. Carbon fiber or fiberglass fabric is not wood and not glue. So what is allowed is an all wood stock and wood laminate (wood and glue). This can be modified by a rule...

    How hard

I like to have the main body of the bag to be pretty hard and the ears to be somewhat softer but they should be firm enough to support and provide guidance to the buttstock. The flat between the ears should actually be flat and not concave, convex or slanted to one side or the other.

    it's been a while

Jeff13, You came here looking for some kind of recognition or validation of your skills, either that you were just itching for an flame war. With the majority of the folks who post and lurk here, if you want anyone to take notice, you need to put up some big scores at a sanctioned match or...

A MUST READ! An IR50/50 Sporter Shooting Feat That May Never Be Beat

Wondering why the Salem NY match results for last weekend hasn't been entered on the website. For those interested, once that data is entered, Ed's Sporter Scoreline will be 1750-122Xs.

Thanks Bob for the correction. I've changed my original post to reflect. Even more awesome.

A MUST READ! An IR50/50 Sporter Shooting Feat That May Never Be Beat

Ok, rimfire benchrest shooters, imagine this if you will: 9 Sporter Targets shot at 2 different venues, over a 2 week period. Result, 8 - consecutive 250s in a row. 2248 out of 2250 points over 9 targets, with a sporter and a straight 6X scope. Yes, he did it again! Ed Hosier shot another...

    Ed Hosier showed the way!!!

That is actually the second 750 sporter score. Last year Chris Peterson shot a 750-42X. Interestingly, at the Wallkill match last week I was speaking with Chris and said that I thought his record would last awhile. He predicted that he didn't think it would last that long because his X count...

    Ed Hosier showed the way!!!

That's crazy good! That's got to be a record. Great going Ed. The season is just starting and yet, it looks like Ed has sewned up the Sporter Scoreline. He'll be near impossible to catch. Again, outstanding!!!

    Fiberglass vs wood

The phrase, "don't sweat the small stuff" comes to mind. Wood vs Synthetic; shooters are winning with both. When it comes to improving scores, IMO time is better spent practicing, concentrating on technique and learning what the flags are telling you. If one starts thinking that points are...

Does anyone shoot matches using IBS target?

Hey Pete, You gots to pay attention. No one is saying not to use the IBS target for informal barnyard, squirrel rifle or vintage matches etc. As a matter of fact, it was already stated that it is good for those purposes. The OP wanted to know why most of the rimfire benchrest matches are ARA...

Does anyone shoot matches using IBS target?

The best way to get the answers to your questions is to go to the websites for ARA and IR50/50 and read the "so called" rules.
