    using Iosso Bore Cleaner

Out of curiosity, I have cleaned new barrels which had never seen powder or bullet with both J&B and IOSSO. You are correct patches will come out black. Prove this to yourself, on the outside of a barrel. Some very bad factory barrels in hunting calibers which I have cleaned come out clean...

    Action truing options

When you look at all the issues with a remington, most of the problems envolve the bolt. What I prefer doing is to order a bolt from PT&G that just fits. Coned with sako extractor or std. You won't have to machine the lugs or bush anything. That leaves the receiver face and threads the...

    30 brx chamber ?

After moving the shoulder forward with the 6brx reamer, you will lose the small radius at the base of the neck. It will be pretty much a corner. You will have to polish a small radius there, otherwise it will be somewhat sharp.

    20 or 15 MOA rings?

Depends entirely on what you start with. Should you start with a Panda and paired rings, probably not much difference. Begining with a 40x or 700 remchester, it can be agreat improvement

    !&$#.... Remington arms...

While I do agree that most after market lugs are overkill, I have found Rem lugs that were a full .002 variation in thickness. This of course can be corrected easily with a surface grinder. However, using a lug that rockwells at 3-4 sandwiched between a 30 receiver and a 20 or so barrel is not...

    Keeping your throat sharp

Free handing a little throat cleanup is lacking in alignment, We can easily induce some lateral force without realizing it. Seating a barrel back .030 for those that can do it is much better

    Keeping your throat sharp

After fitting a barrel for a friend, he asked that I break the barrel in, with shoot and clean . I did so cleaning after each shot. Having a bore scope, I inspected the throat and leade with each shot. I was totally amazed how the junction of bore and leade changed in a total of...

A little cocking cam mod. advice please

Boyd, I have no 100% way, but soaking some in Kroil might work. At any rate, measure the fall on only the ones that don't go off. If the primer does go, it will certainly drive the pin back out some. At any rate, I would rely on the max depth, as the worst case scenerio

    Hummer rifle

When you have in your hands, what you believe to be a true hummer gun, head to your local bench with some extra scopes. Shoot a few groups with each. likely you will be as surprised as I have been. On top of a hummer gun is also a hummer scope and they are not that common.

A little cocking cam mod. advice please

Boyd, To do this , I would think a de-activated primer should be used. Think also a case which has not been sized.

Any good gunsmith could make that damage go away in very short order. You may have to promise not to do it again though.

Sizing die to just remove spent primer

Unless you are just making key chain ornaments, you will find it neccessary to at least size part of the neck. This of course is to keep the bullets from falling out. Lots of good info in a basic loading manual
