    Secrets Of The Houston Warehouse

AL Thanks AL, actually I do this as a matter of SOP. I have even gone to the lengths of grinding hardened laps, used with diamond to flatten receiver faces which are sleeved and assembled years ago before action truing became common. 4Mesh, I have no doubt...

    Secrets Of The Houston Warehouse

Charles,, I could be wrong here, but I think it was Harold Vaughn that said the threaded barrel joint allowed the scope and barrel to change direction relative to each other. That has been the subject of the most recent posts here. It should be noted...

New Toy - check your gun handling

Great work Greg, if one picture is worth a thousand words, your video is worth millions. I can see a whole new avenue of group tightener coming on. Your ready for show business, but only Joel could describe Johnny Depp of benchrest as 160 lbs of mutton

    Secrets Of The Houston Warehouse

If the clamping force we use is so marginal, The barrels on ultra-mags and short mags should still be rattling in the barrel channels long after the deer falls over. There must be something else going on in that threaded joint.

    21 and 3/4 barrel length

I'd like to direct this question to someone who might know. The barrel length of 21 3/4 as credited to Jim Gilmore and followed by Virgil King in the warehouse article. Is that total length with tenon or without. I am , not referring to the legal definition, but what Jim meant. Different...

    Secrets Of The Houston Warehouse

It takes all of 10-15 min. to read the warehouse story. A 3 hr interview would cover more. Thinking that may have just been the high lights .

    Secrets Of The Houston Warehouse

Having reread the warehouse story many times, I always find a new item of interest. I note that both front and rear bags were packed pretty hard, seemingly, the front very hard. Think it would also be grand if all of T.J. Jacksons writtings were assembled under one cover . No doub't...

I finally found a lathe. Woo Hooo!!!!

My welded up frame weighed over 300 lbs, it also has a shelf with 1/2 plate and turned out to be ridgid enough that changing the feet had no effect on the bed. Final adjustments to the bed were made using shims under the bolt down tabs. Adjustable feet serve to get all 4 mated equally to the...

    Secrets Of The Houston Warehouse

Butch,, My best attempt at explaining it would not be good. Thats not to imply that I honestly know. It does happen, and I have seen it. It has also been explained to me. For that matter, what causes a good drill to wander and make a crooked hole.

    Building a concrete shooting bench

I did a double bench once. Its fine if you have a concrete saw available. When you buddy come over and flops his equiptment on the other side, you will wish you had built two singles, and it won't take long to correct it
