    Mike Gambel left the range

Mike was a lovely, soft spoken gentleman. I had the good fortune to shoot with him a few times and be a teammate at one of the pro-am events.

    Tuners!!!!

My opinion, take it for what you paid for it. Among the worst things new(ish) shooters can possibly do is start hanging, clamping, wild crap all over the barrel. Now there are lots of theories about what may or may not work, you can spend a lifetime chasing your butt instead of learning your gun...

    Benny Sunderhaus w-Johnson Barrel Rifle

Update…. Was at Syracuse gun show Sat. Biggest one in NYS. I was surprised at several tables with pristine rimfire 52’s, 40X’s, 37’s and especially Martinis(about 8) all with great sights or Unertl’s in pristine shape. All but the 40X’s were marked at very reasonable prices which also seemed...

bencfh rest rifles from late 60s to early 70s

Don’t recall exactly but LV was about same tenon, 21”-22” tapered straight to .5”-.6” at muzzle.

    Lt-30

Brush, Several of us have been shooting it @Camillus winter league….27.3-27.4. You should be @3400fps+. As Lee said in summer you may need to drop a bit, 27.5 was giving hard bolt lift.

    Tuners!!!!

You also cannot ideally tune in a 10km/h wind. One of the single biggest mistakes shooters make is trying to tune in condition as opposed to waiting for condition to get as good as possible at your range.

    Tuners!!!!

Do you by any chance have an uncle Bill? Kind of a tall guy as I recall.

    Tuners!!!!

Well, i stand corrected. When time permits please tell the class why, in a thread about rimfire tuning, you post a target with 6mm three shot groups.

    Tuners!!!!

Take a good look at that image folks, the one with the groups......the one that says "Panda" as in CFBR. That's because Mikey is on record that RF and CF barrels act EXACTLY the same. When that there was first opined, I received multiple PM's across a couple forums, from some very, very...

    Tuners!!!!

I have’nt found anything yet, this spring we’ll see, so for now,we get a comedy in two ( or three) acts. Oh, I forgot, tune for lot changes???? More insight from a non- participant.

    Tuners!!!!

You, again, quote my post without answering the very simple question. If you have an answer great, if not start a thread on tuning perhaps. I asked you a simple question a couple years back……still unanswered, because you simply don’t know,
  12. T

    Tuners!!!!

Yeah Mike that’s swell. I know how to tune a rifle. With all due respect, I asked a specific question which you did not address.

    Tuners!!!!

OK, since this tuner thread has bumped back currently, I have a question. For those with guns tuned with ELEY, what, if any, adjustments made for Lapua ? Seems like some don’t readjust…..many/most seem to.

bencfh rest rifles from late 60s to early 70s

Several, such as Harts, were using wood stocks that often required a fast taper, i.e. “western” tapered bbl to make 10 1/2 lbs.

    Ir 50/50 (275)

Well, I guess since they sell actions they figured perhaps, not the best marketing approach.

    Ir 50/50 (275)

You make an interesting point, however, for ANY of this to happen in a truly competitive environment, top flight gunsmiths need to embrace/develop the platform. It sounds like there have been approx. two and one of them has had fairly consistent issues after a short time.Top flight gunsmiths...

    Federal Primers are changing formula?

AllI know is with supply issues, guys have been shooting pretty good with about 1/2 dozen different brands these days.

    Ir 50/50 (275)

Show up and make new friends Pete, shoot whatever. Shooting beats not shooting.Just because it changed is not reason to wave a white flag and quit.

    Ir 50/50 (275)

All fair points, cannot disagree. There is also an elephant in the room, at least as it relates to IR 50/50 three gun.I have been around since Milt and Helen and today, especially with a bounty of alternatives RFBR has gotten pretty expensive to buy and run multiple guns, often with multiple...

What is the most accurate factory rifle you've owned?

Buddy brought his brandy new Cadex Defense BMG a couple weeks back for us to shoot after our weekly winter BR match. Big time $ gun. First BMG I ever shot and it was a bit more than a 12 gauge slug gun with the brake they install, not bad at all. He even had some military tracers…..rather...
