I am going to build a spider for my D1-4 cam on my lathe to replace my 4 jaw chuck so I can work shorter barrels through the headstock. I am wondering what would be the best size and TPI for the 4 screws. Thanks, Jonathan K

OK...Heres where Im at. I indicated the muzzle and 1 1/2" into the chamber to .0001.I cut a rough tennon and I drilled and bored about 7/8" of the chamber. I now have .0001 at the muzzle, .0001 on my rough tennon, .0001 at 1.5" into the chamber, .0001 where I bored but I have .00025 at point...

OK...to taper bore you find the amount of taper in the reamer and set the compound to half that value......how do you figure out the actual taper? Thanks, Jonathan

Have to physically change some gears for metric

Thats a great idea...Ive had some issues getting it solid because of the small footprint. Do you happen to know an easy way to change the belts to the other gears?

Another thing...The machine doesnt come with leveling pads, They have some rubber pads but they 100$ extra. I got the pads from them so far I havent been able to get it as solid as I would like, there is a little bit of mush to it. Im gonna try some other things tonight and see if I can get it...

One issue with the machine Ive found is on the compound, it only goes 45 degrees left and right from 0 with the compound pointing towards the headstock side of the machine. This is easily corrected by adding another mark on the cross slide as shown in these pictures.

It came with the quick change toolpost and everything in the pictures...I have done some cutting and cut very well, I plan on doing some threading this evening
