    Accurize a balance beam scale?

I took two years of college chemistry and three years of college physics, and the person that thought this up should document all of it and present it to the Nobel Science Committee, cuz it truly revolutionizes the laws of Chemistry, thermodynamics, and Physics - there is at least one Nobel...

    h4198 and h4895

H-4198 is way too fast for the swift, and H-4895 is still a bit fast for all but the lightest bullets. For "normal" bullets of 50gr to 60gr, powders like 760, 4007 SSC (my favorite), H4350, and other powders in this burning range are best.

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

Thank you... it seems that even the old ones were close enough to require turning - I'm set up for that (I shoot a 0.262 6mmBR)

    Pressure Need Answer

Some years ago (when I was a young pup), I perforated a primer or two in a bench gun I was shooting. I was shooting CCI BR-4's at the time. I never paid attention to it, other than lowering the powder charge. Over the years, I had misfire problems - light strikes, misfires that needed to be...

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

I read on one of the threads that the change to the blue box, and the change to the 0.015 neck did not happen exactly at the same time, so it is possible to have thick necks in a cardboard box, and thin necks in a blue box... or so I understand it. But that is second hand info, so consider it...

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

Good evening Zippy... I think you and I have different philosophies on teaching, but I'm not gonna feed this anymore, it's done! Yes... I'll shoot it at the local BR matches, but mostly, I'm gonna shoot it in the local egg shoots. It's 500 yds (jumbo, grade "A" white, on a string ;) ) and a...

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

Hovis... Thanks. It'll be a few months before I get the rifle, it is "mine" but the estate is tied up on some things (I think estate taxes), so when all the goodies are released, I will be in walnut heaven :) :) There was a second one I bid on (in 6mmBR) but I don't think I will get that.

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

Feelings not hurt. It just gets real old, and I get tired of it. You join a new website, and you get treated like you just got off the melon truck. Replies like yours KILL websites, by driving away new members. I asked two very clear (and simple) questions. One was, what was needed to form...

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

Good morning Boyd. My first laugh of the day. :) Thank you (and Stiller) for your suggestions. I have ordered a Redding body die, and a set of comp shell holders. Off hand, do you know what the neck wall thickness is for the current (blue plastic box) 220 Russian case is? It'll be a while...

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

I was sarcastic because of your condescending tone. It should have been obvious that I knew enough to ask about the neck wall thickness... I said, "With a .254" neck, I should not have to turn the necks first, unless the 220 Russian cases have a neck wall thickness of over 0.014"." So, lemme...

    Pressure Need Answer

The 28gr load is way to hot - and BenchMark is probably not the best choice. But if you want to stay with it, start at 22 grains and work up to ~25-ish. H4895, and Varget are better (and faster velocity) powders.

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

Thank you for your overwhelming concern for me and my safety... .. but: 1 - It IS a full sized 22 PCC. 2 - It IS a .254 neck. 3 - Since the gun is unfired, and spent it's life in a box, there are no "loaded rounds" to check... and since I'm the one that has to make the loaded rounds - they...

Forming 22 PPC from Lapua .220 Russian... some questions??

I have a new Dakota/Nesika Heavy Barreled "Predator" rifle coming to me in a few months from a collector's estate - I was the high bidder. It is unfired, and has the most beautiful AAA+ Exhibition grade Claro wood I have even seen (and I have seen a lot of nice wood :) ) It is in 22 PPC, with a...

Does the neck thickness get thinner as the brass is weared?

The amount of stretch is related to the amount of space - if there is a lot of space, the case can separate in 3 or 4 firings, if there is minimal space, it might take 20 or 30 (or more) firings, if the case is long enough to have a crush fit to the chamber, it will not stretch or separate.
