What is your preferred trigger cleaning solution

Bolt lube, if one uses it and lug lube, hot weather, gravity. For those reasons I think zero anything is preferable, although I doubt there is much actual lube in Lighter fluid but I don't know with any certainty. I've had no issues with zero for a few years.

    Shilen triggers

Well, That's just the way they are is all. They work fine without the extra work but work better slicked up a bit.

    Arthritis

I have bone on bone as well, both my thumbs and shoulders. I have a friend who recently had his right thumb bone on bone rebuilt by a specialized place. Doing OK with it so far.

    Shilen triggers

Grind the bubble off the trigger lever pin or does it unscrew? As a standard practice, I have stoned the faces of all the moving parts and side plates with every Jewell Triger I have owned. Just makes sense to me to have everything as flat as it can be. Some of the Jewell triggers I have...

    Bolt shrouds

Years ago I saw a picture of a Rem 700 type bolt shroud that was made from, I think , Teflon. Is the person who owns it still around and could perhaps share if they made it or acquired it? Thanks

    Shilen triggers

I watched a vid today on "Fixing" the problem with Remington triggers. The lad presenting stated the Shilen trigger was very much like the Remington with the fix he was doing done. The Rem trigger has a pin holding the trigger lever that can be driven out where as the Shilen seems to be riveted...

    Flinching

I fight it all the time. For me it has to do with adrenalin. I'm not recoil shy but I get to crankin and will sometimes even falsely pull at the trigger. I employ the Dutch Uncle in my head quite often. I once spoiled an almost 250- 24 by jerking the trigger on the last shot that went of a 9...

    Arthritis

I saw an Rheumatologist a couple of years ago and he told me , pretty much, to suck it up, getting old ain't for sissies and I should expect it. I will say, I have improved over this past few months but my right thumb was practically useless off and on for months. 79 and 4 mos., me.

Pretty sure if it's suppose to be capable of 2 oz, something is not right in the adjustment process. Do you have their written directions?

    Shilen triggers

As I recall, they are riveted together like the Remingtons are. Was wondering how folks deal with that.

    Shilen triggers

Well, here's the deal. As I recall the Shilen's are riveted together so I am wondering if folks take them apart, can they re-use the rivet heads ?

What is your preferred trigger cleaning solution

I read someplace to never use anything to lube a trigger, particularly lighter fluid. I have run my Jewels dry for a few years now without incident. Tigger's are a very simple mechanism and with hardened parts in them, they really don't need lube. The pivots don't get used a whole lot in the...
