The Dawning of the Age of the Easy 30 BR

With the release of the Alpha 30 BR cases, the day of the drudgery of making cases and chasing the Dreaded Doughnuts can finally be behind us. If the cases are as good as the 6 BR cases have been, we can all have no turn reamers made and just shoot. Never thought I would live to see this day.

pete,
buy some test some and get back to us.
i think you and mister BIB would be the ones to give an honest review.
i have heard mixed reviews on other competition cases...for sr br

Jackie Schmidt tested some and posted his results on A.S., with Bruno's the exclusive source for it, at this point. Sounds like the production cases will be 1.530" long.

Good shootin' :) -Al

I like that longer number. I'm in the middle of my 7BR build and received 300 pieces of
7BR brass from Peterson. It measures 1.510". Kiff's reamer that I ordered custom, cuts a
much deeper neck. I'll get the actual true number after fire forming. I know Jackie uses
a longer neck so looks like he's in his happy place again after looking at his targets. Maybe
later on down the road, I'll get some of that brass and size em' down. Always nice to have
more options to play with, and American made also......

Thanks Fuj i didn’t find that I information. Thanks I have not tried Alpha 6 ppc because I have2000 pc of gold box Laupa I most likely will try the Alpha 30 offerings

I intend to have a no turn reamer made before I do any testing. I wouldn't turn one of those $2.00 cases for anything :).

I have completed my testing of the Alpha 30 BR brass and competed with it this past weekend, My finding a similar to Jackie Schmidt's.
I have not used the Lapua to build my 30 BR brass as most have in the past, but have used the Peterson because neck their 7 BR brass up to 30 caliber was a breeze. My daughter is editing a video about the brass and its performance under match conditions and will be released sometime between this writing and this coming Monday the 25th of may. I am very please with its performance and quality.
In speaking with Tom Danielson from Alpha, I made a request of him, and I am going to ask the "BR" community to petition Alpha to introduce what I am Calling the .455/BR case. This would be the standard 30 BR cases with a PPC head, so that all those who wish to shoot score and not spend $650 to a $1000 dollars on a 308 bolt for their rifle could with the .455/BR chamber up their PPC rifles and be shooting a 30 BR or by necking it down shoot and of the BR family and its variants with no issues at all. Plus the money spent on a new bolt, could now go into the purchase of shooting components.
Anyways keep an eye out for the video and I'll post a link here when it's ready, plus contact Alpha about the .455/BR so all us PPC bolt face owners can easily transition from PPC to BR with just a change of a barrel.
Here is a link to Alpha's Contact page, let's make this happen. Lester Bruno's just gave me the word that he would finance the project and stock the brass if you guy show the interest.
