Remington 700 Bolt Stop.

Good morning, everyone.
I own a Remington 700 222Rem that I bought second-hand. I noticed that the bolt stop is missing. Considering that it is not easy to find here in Italy and importing it is too expensive, I would like to make one myself. I have a small workshop and I don't think it would be a problem. Would anyone be able to give me the dimensions, or tell me where I can find these measurements? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Everything is on the internet these days. Might find a drawing there. Google images. Google your name and see what pops up.

Good advice Tim. I have a similar issue with my Rem, 722/ 222 but in my case I lost the small coil spring that fits into the upper left side of the receiver. That little spring activates the bolt block. I still shoot whistle pigs on a friends ranch but have to keep it level or the bolt falls out. I'm still looking but no luck as of yet.

Mort, the spring is 1/8" diameter and 5/16" long. I used a spring from from my local Ace Hardware spring drawer. A 700 spri g will also work with a little reliefe added by the trigger cross pin.

Hope this helps. -Al

Thanks Al, I had tried all the sites that have Remington parts but no luck. We have an Ace Hardware here in town.

Ace is great. The Local one, I go to is sorta independent. Wyandotte, MI. The hardware section is 2X as big. And they have these bins in the back by the office with Square stock, round stock, flat bar, angle bar, Brass, steel, aluminum, and pipe. I needed a cheater bar to get off a barrel. They had the pipe. And they make screens. I have wall unit A/C thing. Every year after the willows make that fuzzy stuff. I have to clean the condenser. Had a custom screen made. Works great.
