Darker-Colored Bullets?

Hunter

Runnin' Along
I've got some 6 mm, 67 gr. bullets that are darker than what I consider normal-looking bullets; the bullet on the left is the strange-looking bullet, the one on the right is the normal-looking bullet. Some questions:
  1. Any idea as to why the darker color?
  2. Is that what I've heard of as a moly-coated bullet?
  3. If "Yes" to # 2, is there anything "special" I should do before and/or after shooting such a bullet?
  4. If "No" to # 2, any idea as to why the one on the left is darker?

The bullet jacket may have been annealed. Lowell Hottenstein did this 2014 when the 0.825 jackets he received appeared to be harder than normal. They shot very well, but they were a bit fatter than his previous Simonson 68 gr bullets.

Thanks, Lee. I think George Ulrich made those darker-color bullets. I'll look to see if I have his email address.

George had the Oven. Lowell sent his jackets to George. You can clean those up with hot water and citric acid or Lemmie Shine. Or just shoot them.
